I thought they were raising the 3A limits to be from 450 to 850 student enrollment figures for the next time.

Elgin and Burnet have a large chance to go 4A! That's not what we want to hear is it '06?

The key word is PROJECTED, I personally expect the top cutoff to be over 900.

Im pretty sure Carter Riverside and maybe even Diamond Hill will be in 4a. Neither are power houses but Im just adding to the list. Whats everyones opinion about Everman moving up to 4a...How do u think they will do?

i heard that they are making the start of 3a 600 because of how the 5a schools are growing

crhs, i think everman will do just as good in 4a as they did in 3a. they beat us 50-10 and the refs said thats the best school they had EVER seen play. Remember how talented burnett was and they beat them 35-14

I would love to see Burnet stay 3A, but I really expect us to move on up to 4A- even if the numbers do climb. Our schools are really growing fast, and I think it would be fair to say we will meet the new mark, and then some. But I hope I am wrong.

I believe Everman, Burnet and Forney will all be 4A next time around, but I think Jasper will remain 3A. I believe Everman, Forney and Burnet will all do just fine in 4A. As long as Burnet keeps their current coaching staff (mainly intact, I know we will lose a few), I believe they will be very successful no matter what class they are in.

Logic says Burnet would play in the 17-4A with Marble Falls, Lampasas, Taylor, the Killeen schools & Pflugerville Connally. But, within a relatively small radius there is 25-4A (Dripping Springs, Lake Travis, etc), 26-4A (7 Austin 4A schools)and 27-4A (Fredericksburg, Kerrville etc),

I would be surprised to see Jasper move up. Right now, the town is losing people, not growing. I agree that the 5A schools are growing, so the numbers could go up. We'll eventually see.

Kinda funny that we're more interested in what will happen next year instead of focusing on the upcoming year...

Can you imagine the fun the Burnet and Marble Falls rivalry could bring to our kids. I could tell countless stories. Boy the history between these two teams is really something! I'd love to see us in the mix with the Austin schools though...

LOL, Tere will be a huge rivarly between Burnet and Marble Falls, again, when Burnet moves to 4A. But you can bet Burnet will beat them every time! wink Oh by the way, Marble Falls didn't do very good last season did they? Does anyone know their scores??

Marble Falls was a terror in 3A in the early 90's and did pretty good their first years in 4A. Can't say what happened, but they were 0-10 in 2002. They now have a new coach.....maybe he can turn the wreck around.

I think Burnet will stay in 3A for another Couple of years.

Obviously it's going to depend on the numbers that the UIL come out with, but I feel like the adjustment might be in our favor. Only time will tell. But I do believe we have a fair chance of staying put.

I think BIG changes are abound in 3A...Dr. Breithaupt from the UIL says they will do something about the gap in 3A...possible reducing the number of teams in 3A to like 185...thus possibly giving 3A only 28 districts..and giving some teams byes in the playoffs...

Matthew sounds like the cutoff for 3A might be reduced down to 800 students. That would eliminate 22 teams as it now stands. UIL keeps applying the yoyo standard in that alot of these top 22 were in the 4A classification just a few years back. Carthage and Jasper did quite well in the 4A playoffs during the 90's. Jasper was in the 4A playoffs 6 times, Carthage 5 times. Carthage lost in the Finals in 1991 and Jasper lost in the Quarterfinals in 1994 in their best finishes.

Zeke, I would bet that at least one-half of the 22 teams you listed have over 900 students at this time! The problem I see for the UIL is that many of the 4A and 5A schools have grown as much or more than these largest 3A schools. The growth factor is killing us all....just think folks like Southlake Carroll were 3A just 11 years ago and many more fall into that catagory.
