Will Euless Trinity still be ranked number one in Texas if they lose their 1st game to a little 2a team from out of state?

Some little 300 enrollment school from River Ridge Louisiana named John Curtis Christian. I've never even heard of them.:p

How could they possibly think they could stay on the field with a powerhouse like Trinity?

I mean they have 300 kids in the whole school. Trinity probably has more kids than that in the chess club.

Could be a private school that recruited all the studs to play on one team.

Oh and by the way, I played against Trinity when I was in high school --- they whipped us.

Actually, John Curtis is a private school in Louisiana that recruits their players, and are allowed to. They may have only 300 students in their high school, but you can bet they're the brightest and best athletes available in that area. John Curtis has won five 2A state championships in a row if I'm not mistaken. Last year they played Longview (which was 5A and is now 4A) and lost in the final minutes by 1 score. I think they'll give Euless Trinity a decent game. They may not win it, but I wouldn't be surprised to see JC stay within 2 scores.

Why would Trinity even agree to this game?

There is no upside for them. Dumb move on their part imo.

Lineweaver is an odd guy, I think he just sees the chance for his kids to play against a really good team and get better. Being the defending 5A champs with most of the team back, teams aren't lining up to play them.

I think it will be a slobbernocker. Trinity HAS to win. The Texas pride is on the line. You can't take your number one team in the state, and lose to a little out of school team. I don't care who they are.

Just curious. Will the game be televised?

a katy vs miami northwestern game would have been great. Still think MNW would have won, they were stacked at every position.
*sorry out of left field with that*

What does it matter if they are "2A".... they are a national powerhouse because they are able to recruit. You can not compare a team from a state that allows Private/public to play in the same league with the a Texas School.

For years, Evangel Christian played in Louisiana 6A with 1A numbers. It is not relative!

Some of these games should be televised. It's part of the Kirk Herstreit classic labor day weekend. I think 7 or 8 games are scheduled in Texas over 2 days at Texas Stadium.

Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, or the person who has this blog doesn't know what they're talking about, but I know I originally saw that Euless Trinity was a part of this schedule, but it doesn't show them on here now. When is ET playing John Curtis?
