Since the start of the new millennium in 2000 high school football gets better every year, another thing i noticed is the rapid growth in Texas with new schools created almost every year. 64 schools have opened and 3 of those schools have been consolidated to be one school such as

Port Arthur Memorial (2002)- All three campuses Austin, Jefferson, and Lincoln formed to remain in Class 5A at that time two were Class 4A and one in Class 2A

Victoria Memorial (2002)- Victoria High were in 5A and Stroman in 4A

Houston North Forest (2008)- With the declining enrollment numbers at Smiley and Forest Brook the district decided to put the two together to remain 4A

Pharr Valley View is not that new of a school. They opened up in the late 80's. They were a member of 32-AAA for many years and participated in all sports except football. Varsity football began 2 years ago when they moved up to 4A.

Wait till they start having the private schools compete in 3A. Plus we are heading toward what California has where it is about money and watered down state champions.
