How do you see the south whaping up. Not a Tech fan but the cover story and articles on them are impressive. I think all of the teams will be better. I like the Briles hire at Baylor. He will get them competitive and in the win column. TAMU should be better. OU will contend for the Nat. Title, and Texas has loads of talent. OSU evidently has a MAN that is 40 coaching.....I sure wish TCU would be in the B 12 S. They are always a solid well-coached staff. Here is how I see it

OU
Texas
Tech
TAMU
OSU
Baylor

Any thoughts?

I'm going "All In" on Tech this season.

I know it is likely I will be disappointed, but if there is ever a season they should make a run, this is it.

1. Texas
2. Tech
3. ou
4. a&m
5. OSU
6. Baylor

Texas has a much tougher schedule this year, but I believe this is the way it will shake out. I may have #2 and #3 backwards. Tech will need to beat the sooners in Norman.

There is no way that Texas will win the Big 12 South. Not with OU and Tech loaded the way they are. Texas may be Texas, but they still have way too many question marks to win.

That is not a bad opinion. Probably correct. But ... sometimes you have just got to suck in your gut and be a man about it.

I'm "All In" on Tech.

I'm not yet either. First few Big 12 games will tell the tale about their defense in my opinion. I'm very skeptical about that right now. I mean anyone can start playing better with a change. But can they keep that play up is the main question.

But can they keep that play up is the main question. Yes and a lot of Longhorn fans are more worried about them instead of Missouri. IMO Missouri has as good of a QB as Tech if not better and Maclin who IMO is on par with Crabtree. Also Missouri has a much better defense.

And I don't blame them. I think Tech will destroy Texas. They finally have a realistic chance to blow them out in front of a home crowd. If that doesn't get you motivated, I don't know what does.

Tech will not destroy Texas, Tech could win the game though, but I'm not buying their defense is improved enough to make a run for BCS or Big 12 title, I know several Tech fans who are worried about the ''Hype'', they say were used to being the ones shooting at the targets, not being the target, will be 10-2 or 9-3 when the season ends, most likely 2nd or 3rd in Big 12.

I've got to tell you, I'm excited to hear some Tech talk on here. Just got through registering my son at Tech and he will be a freshman member of the football team this fall. It was very exciting to be on campus and listen to the buzz coming every corner. It's kind of hard for me to buy in to the 11-1, or 10-2 talk right now but it's very exciting to know that your son will have the opportunity to be a part of it and possibly experience some things that very few get to.

It appears everyone agrees with OU then Texas and Tech battle it out. On the north side, Missou will be the class of the league. any thoughts on the North?.....Not that they matter....

Yeah we will all know a lot more after the first few games of the season. texas has to many question marks "NOW" to predict they will win the big 12 south. but you never know, things could fall into place for them. Tech will have to prove they have a legit defense before I will give them any credit. As a texas fan I have to admit, i do not like our chances against OU and for now Im going to count Tech as a loss. could be ugly.good thing we have Mizzou at home. Colorado could be a trap game. Texas' defense will be the key to their success or failure.

I think Tech is overrrated this year. I dont think they are going to be as good as everyone thinks. They will lose to OU, UT, and Mizzou. UT has a questionable year w/ their questions marks but they will pull off a alright season. UT will lose to OU and Mizzou.

I agree with Go Blue likely only Nevada would beat FAU, but oh well, alot of big schools do that to remain in the hunt or fall in the national championship *cough* ohio st *cough* lol

LOL! I'd like to see Tech beef up their pre-conference schedule, but I'm not sure that will happen any time soon.

Hope Texas doesn't take em lightly like they did arkansas st., FAU may have better athletes

Tech could be 6-0 heading into college station. Thanks for posting that marshmellow schedule. That type of scheduling will make them a 6-0 team that will not rank well in the BCS because of the lack of strength in the pre-season.
those two usually play a great game.
