The boot belongs to them good day to be a Ranger fan. I had a bad feeling the Astros were going to win but the Rangers held on.

Hamilton being out didn't help much either...neither did Blalock still being out...

If the Rangers can stay close to 500 ball until the big bats get back, hopefully they'll be within striking distance of the Angels. The only problem is, the Angels don't lose very often.

Good news for the Rangers is that they get the Angels for four games at home in about three weeks. That's an opportunity to slash half of their deficit in a week if the Rangers could somehow pull off a sweep.

On the other hand, losing ground most likely officially eliminates them from contention, and then the Rangers can proceed as sellers. That series is going to be huge one way or another.

Astros up 5-0 in the 2nd. How many more do they need to score to win the boot? 10?????

Good thing the Rangers have that cushion

How many runs must the astros have to get the silver boot now in game 3? GO RANGERS!!!!!

Astros announcers said they needed to win by 12. You'd think the Rangers have it in the bag, but you never know.

Well, hopefully the Rangers can hang on here and take home the silver boot. The ASStros are just getting hits to fall. They won't fall all game though.

Congrats on the boot.

Good luck the rest of the season in your quest for the AL West crown

One thing I can say proudly about the Houston Astros is that their fans have a little class and don't have to resort to derogotory terms to describe the other team in their state (with which they have NOTHING in common except playing 2 fairly-meaningless series each year)

I am a proud TEXAN and support all of our teams. It's too bad others don't see it that way

I don't really care about the boot. Yea, it would have been nice, but taking 2 of 3 and finally getting back on the winning track makes me feel pretty good. Nice win and Go Astros!
