Game 2 tonight.

A crucial game in the quest for the "Silver Boot."

I am hereby renaming the Astros the "Strohs" for the rest of the year. This team is so bad they need to be shipped out to the beer league. Yes, pun intended.

And if they drop back too far, the Lastros...

Hope the 'Stros take this "boot" thing, because Lord knows neither of these teams will have anything else to brag about come regular season's end...

Hamilton and Bradley both out for the Rangers, who also got word that Hank Blalock has been recalled from his rehab assignment because team doctors said his hand isn't responding well.

David Murphy is batting cleanup tonight.

maybe the astros can win by 11 tonight to sew up the boot thing..

11 runs wouldn't sew it up, it would only give the 'Stros a 3-2 advantage with game 6 tomorrow night...

Astros haven't been scoring a lot of runs lately but that could mean they're due for a breakout.

Or it could mean that they're not very good at this point. One or the other.

I think the Chronicle needs to come out with the tombstone on the front of the sports section. That worked wonders in '05...;)

I don't even think a tombstone can save them this year. They need to go "Florida Marlins after a world series" with this team. Maybe we'll be good again in 4 years or so.

Very true. And when we get a good start, the bullpen brings their gas can to the hill and screws it all up.

Hard to believe a month ago these guys were a game out of first in the NL Central...

my bad. currently the rangers have outscored the stros 29-19. 11 run win would only put them up 1 run, and if the rangers win by 2 tomorrow night, that would give them 1 more run and the tiebreaker, which is most runs scored. like the song goes, what was I thinkin??? Thanks...
