I figured out a way to save gas. We are having a July 4th party at our house so we don't have to drive anywhere other than the grocery store. I think that probably qualifies as staying home, but not sure it saves any money!:)

The only thing I have planned on July 4 this year is to take in a fireworks display in Gilmer. I will likely cook some steaks or burgers on the grill that weekend, but won't do any traveling. I will be taking my wife and daughters to Six Flags the weekend before, and to Galveston the first weekend in August, so I will need the down time close to home.
