Brownwood defeated Celina 35-27 in the championship game at Arlington Bowie's 7 on 7 SQT. Both teams qualify for the state tournament later on in July at A and M. Celina will host their SQT next Saturday at Celina.

You are right. We will have our full d on the field and you wont score more than 14.

2 of our all state running backs, McCartney and Waldrip weren't at this game as they were taking the ACT. Hope we both get that far and then we will see. Brownwood has a lot of talent, but if we both make it, Celina will probably show up for the game.

I thought Cody looked very good. He threw well on the move which really works for our Offense. If Waldrep and Mcartney had been there it would have been even better. Truthfully both QB's looked good. I am beginning to get some good vibes about next season. If the line shapes up we still look to have a good running throwing qb and two all state backs. Might be pretty good.

I got to talk to Cody last week and got a good feeling for the up coming season. He did say that we will be very young with 3 may be 4 under classmen starting. From wh he stated our oline is as follws LT Jackson, LG Kimbrell, C Rose, RG Stout, RT Bidleman, TE James. I was told that James is about 6'3 now and got bulked up in off season. I believe Newman will be a DT

Yeah I saw James the other day and he looked bigger. He is a good blocker technically anyway but the size will help. I see kimbrell all the time. Looks stronger now than last year. That Line should work. It was fun to see Craig james out there. This year he gets to be the resident Dad from the NFL for Celina. Some of us still remember the pony express and he and Eric Dickerson in the same backfield. Then he goes to the pats and messes up his knee. Good guy to coach the 7 on 7.

I think Kimbrell is around the 6 1 range. I don't know exactly. But he is taller than me. I have not seen Jackson up close since last fall so ya got me on that one.

Well does that mean up or down because i know in the program last year they had Troy Franklin listed at 275 and i would say he was a little bigger than that.

Usually it is the spring weight that is reported. So it could go up or down depending on what kind of summer they have. But our boys usually don't stop working so you can sort of guess they are light. I know Troy was really closer to 290 last year. Man did he ever sprout. When he was a seventh grader he did not look like he would sprout like that. I saw Troy and Ty at church the other day. Ty looked great and walked without a cane. I know he had a huge impact on his little brother Troy. It was just a little funny tho because Ty was always big brother and now troy is huge.

Thats awsome how things worked out for that family. We will sure miss Troy at DT this year some young man has some big shoes to feel. Cody was saying the other day that alot of the boys have gotten huge over the summer. How big is that Newman boy?

I like how I hassle a Celina poster just a tad (all in good fun) and now these Rockdale guys are jumping in.... I didn't think this thread even mentioned Rockdale, and better yet, who and where the h#ll is Rockdale? At least people all over Texas from 1A to 5A have heard of Brownwood and Celina.

But, to answer your question, Celina has 8, Brownwood has 7. Brownwood's new district has 15 or 17 or something. Celina probably has more than all of Rockdale's district combined.

I think the Rockdale guys have title envy or may maybe some other kind of envy. Just ask Freud he may know.

I'm not taking up for GoBlue, but Rockdale came closer to beating China Spring than anybody in the playoffs, beside Celina. Just a thought.:D

Yeah no doubt rockdale was good last fall. Just ran into the team to beat on their half of the bracket.
