Anyone on here from/live in Gainesville. Looks like we are moving there this summer. It is a new area for us, so any information would be appreciated.

I do not think I have seen any posts from a Gainesville person for a long time.

I suspect they will find the 3ADL as the season creeps up on us.

Gainsville used to be one of the most dominant 3a schools around in football for a while. And about 4 years ago they just fell off the map.

I have no knowlegde as of what Gainsville has to offer as living, but the school I hear is in good condition.

They are just about finished with a new high school. Drove by it Monday on the way to Norman to register for classes. Looks very nice and should be ready for the fall by the look of things. Gainesville seems to be a very nice homely little town. I think you will enjoy living there.

New HS, chose not to build a new stadium. Leeper Stadium is old and it shows. Several restaurants, a few big box retailers, local jr college, has an outlet mall. Is about a half hour from Denton and a half hour from the casinos across the river and a half hour from Lake Texoma. Pretty good location right on I-35 halfway between Dallas and OKC. Probably not a bad place to live.

in 2003 they won the state title, then lost the title game in 2005 to Wimberley

in 2006 and 2007 they finished 1-9, i believe

after 2005 they lost a lot to graduation and their coach departed.

They'll be back soon, i bet

All I know about Gainsville:

1) They sent us home in '03 & '05

2) Tech CB Darcell McBath is from there

3) They have Barnett shale underneath the whole county

4) It is no where near Del Rio.
