You guys know of any good eatin' places out in Hempstead or the surrounding area... My girlfriend's supposed to meet her family for dinner tomorrow night and I told her I knew of some people who know their stuff...

If you're coming from Hwy 6/290 and exit to go to Bellville/Hempstead, there's a really good Mexican food place as you get into town on the right, Los Fuentes. In a little shopping center type thing. Very Good.

But if you like Chinese, it's worth the 15 min. drive to Bellville to Golden Pagoda, just before the courthouse.

Country Inn in Somerville for the best steaks. Hwy 36 from Brenham.

Las Fuentes and/or Rancho Grande in Magnolia. Both on 1488.

Julio's Mexican Buffet in Hempstead on 1488.

If they want to go in toward Houston on 290 from Hempstead, there is a Texas Roadhouse at Hwy290 and Hwy 6. Very good steaks.

Also on 290 is Carl's BBQ at Telge Rd. (before Hwy 6)Best BBQ in Houston area.

If you need more directions, let me know. If none of these is preferred, there are plenty of places in Northwest Houston around 290 and 6/1960.

Forgot about one. For very reasonably priced HUGE chicken fried steaks(served on a pizza platter), Hickory Hollow in Magnolia, also on 1488 in the Brookshire Brothers shopping center, right behind the Sonic.
