You're missing the point. It's okay for players from communist
countries to defect to the U.S. to play sports.

It's just not right for Americans to want to play on a communist
countries olympic team. That's simply un-American and bordering
on treason. They used to shoot and hang people for that.

if we ever get tp the point we are shooting people and hanging them for sports, the God help us

and Last I heard Russia was not communist, that whole fall or some wall, they are not a perfect democracy by any means, but they are not coomunist either

It looked like the USA team didn't want her so she went where she was wanted. The same thing happened in the last olympics when some of the USA Lady Soccer players played for Greece.

I don't have a problem with it. It makes me feel good that our athletes who couldn't make our Olympic team make it easily overseas. One of my friends who pole vaulted at Sam Houston was talking about moving to Canada with her boyfriend (who also ran track at Sam and is originally from Canada) to go out for the Olympic team up there. Don't know if she ever did, but I thought it was a great opportunity.
