My wife is having hers removed tomorrow. Apparently it's fairly common to get gall stones after pregnancy (we have a six month old son).

We'd appreciate any info on what to expect recovery wise. Also, we'd appreciate you keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

I had mine taking out about a year and a half ago I think. I
walked out of the hospital and was back at work two days
later.

The strangest thing is they tell you they are going to put
something in your IV to make you sleep. What seems like two
minutes later, you're waking up and the surgery is over.

If she's having the laparoscopic procedure, and as long as there are no complicating factors, it's a relatively simply operation that takes less than an hour, results in minimal to no scarring, and most people go home the same day. I've helped out on several dozen of them and never once seen anything go wrong.

The wikipedia article at the link below covers it pretty thoroughly....

To add a little to your post as an example. I have three very
small incision scars two are barely visible. The one in the
middle is the most noticable.

I was wondering if it's possible to have your ass removed. I'm tired of my wife chewing mine all the time so I thought if I got it removed maybe she would leave me alone.

This may seem weird, but, would you ask the Dr. what they are going to do with the removed gall bladder? I am collecting things and I have never gotten a gall bladder yet. I have one of my mother in law's breasts----- I had a taxidermist make it into a paper weight for my office (kind of a conversation piece). So, anyway if you would check on it for me, I will gladly pay the shipping.:)

The doctor we are using claims he averages 140 of these a year. So he should know what he's doing!:D

Most general surgeons that do them usually schedule 3 or 4 in a row one or two mornings a week so that sounds about right.

You are one odd duck, golferdude. I bet you sit there and rub on the nipple as a stress reliever too huh.

I just asked my wife. She didn't really say anything. Just turned around and left the room. I guess that's a no?

Just put cinnamon on it. That's what my parents used to do to my fingernails and toenails to keep me from chewing them. I think it would work for asses as well.
