What's the most hits you can get in a 1/2 inning without scoring a run?

nope...it's five

two men can get thrown out on the bases who had base hits (stealing or trying to advance), and three others can single to load the bases.

The sixth hit is guaranteed to score a run.

Yep... 5. Load the bases up with 3 singles = 3 hits

Hit two more singles and tag the player out coming home each time = 5 hits and 2 outs.

You can't gain another hit without scoring a run after that

crzy is right..5

think of it like this

1st AB..single...Thrown out trying to steal

2nd AB single....Picked off first

3rd AB single

4th AB single

5th AB single..

6th AB..strike out end inning

5 hits no runs

tagging the player out coming home would actually be a fielder's choice and not a hit.

The sixth hit is guaranteed to score a run. Wrong, in my game the bases were loaded and had a 2U to 5 double play. ;) :D

in that scenario it is only 3 hits..the others are forceout Fielders choice

It doesn't matter... it's still a max of 5 hits.

There are many different ways to get them.

I don't think it counts as a hit though. Why should you get
credit for a hit when you actually hurt the team by getting an out
and not scoring a run.

I have been told 6. The 6th would be bases loaded and the batter hits a ball between the infielders but strikes an advancing runner. Runner is declared out but the batter can be awarded a hit.

interesting...I didn't know that the scorer could award a hit if the batter never reaches first base.

I think 6.

hit/out going for two one out

hit/out going for two two outs

hit guy on first

hit guy on first and second

hit bases loaded

hit guy at second passes guy from third before he makes it to the plate.

or called out for running into the catcher at the plate (non-pro)

I can get you one more hit whether it is 6 or 5, but it is an extremely rare situation. Team only has 9 players, player A breaks his leg sliding into second and is removed from the game. There is no one to sub for him so the base just remains empty and the team continues with 8.
