I just read an article about the fate of Reunion Arena and one of the ideas being tossed around in addition to it becoming a theater or a parking garage is transforming it into a gambling casino....how could that happen?

DISD should have bought it before they built that complex....could have used it for graduations......rented it out to conventions...and basketball games.....but the best thing would they could have run a great indoor track meet in.

the new Jesse Owens complex is amazing...can have good track meets, playoff football games and graduations. Not sure that the District could afford the upkeep of a 30 year old Reunion Arena

Not to mention less chance of getting robbed. I've been to Lake
Charles about twenty or thirty times.

I think there would have to be a State Constitutional Amendment before you could have legal gambling in Texas. The State of Texas is run by a group of idiots, if you go to Louisiana about 90% of the vehicles there have Texas license plates. I can't even imagine the amount of money that leaves here and goes there every week. Maybe one of these days they will wake up and see what a windfall of taxes they could collect here with legal gambling.

Along with the corruption. Let's face it. Louisiana is the poster
child for political corruption at the state level.

Heard about that. Also heard of it turning into a huge hotel as well.
