Region III Champs: Hutto Hippos!!!

That has a nice ring to it!!! LOL!!!! It has been 10 years since Hutto has been to the State Tournament, when they were in 2A!!! On a side note, it would be nice if 5A Georgetown would make it to the State Tourney. Hutto's former coach Danny Wallace who took them to State 10 years ago is now the HC @ Georgetown!!

Dang!!! Just heard Georgetown lost 2 against Plano West after winning Game 1 in the Regional Championship!!!

In 12 playoff games, the Hippos defense has only given up a total of 20 runs. Which includes 5 shut outs, one 2 run game & three 1 run games.

Scores:

Gatesville 11-0 & 8-1

Groesbeck 4-1 & 2-0

Carthage 3-0 & 10-5

Jasper 5-2, 1-4 & 8-0

Taylor 5-1, 5-6 & 6-0

I realize that the Hutto and Taylor rivalry is a bitter one, but the class y'all showed last weekend was not unnoticed.

Not once after the third game today did anyone from Taylor give us a "Nice series,....Win state for region 3", or "We hope you can go all the way."

Yah, we had those games on K-MAC Sports (kmacsports.com) last night - the replays are available any time now...

Georgetown took 2 on the chin from Plano West, who came out and dominated the Eagles..Plano West won Game 2 of the series (first game yesterday) by a 9-0 count, then steamrolled to a 13-3 win in Game 3 (second game yesterday)...

The Eagles had a phenomenal season, but they felt empty-handed after winning Game 1 on thursday against Plano West..
