Hey L Hill P Mom it got so crazy in Gatesville I forgot to send you the other scores. Man it was hot but the Gatesville staff was a great host and allowed Rockdale and Marlin use of some Air Conditioned locker rooms during lunch.

Games were competitive and there were a bunch of good athletes to watch from towns that I don't get so see.

Thanks for updating the scores.

Watch out for our Bandera team. We played in the China Spring game, with no idea who to have where. It was a great experience for our guys, and we figured out where to put most of our players from that tourney. We will make a lot of noise at the state tourney. Watch Cole Hicks, WR/CB. Kid is incredible, I have yet to see anybody cover him (and last year we played teams like Giddings, Celina and Athens, who in my opinion was the best team in the state last year but got DQ for fighting). We have seen all sorts of athletes that are supposed to be so great and Cole will get open and make huge catches regardless. He has yet to be even slowed down.

Brownwood w/ all that d1 talent :( I've been watching 7 on 7 competition for the last 6 years, and I've seen mediocre 11-man small school teams beat large 4A/5A well known name schools that had lots of D1 talent.
In 7 on 7 anyone can beat anyone in any classification.

I agree with LionKing. 7 on 7 is a game that most schools do not practice, game plan for or put much prep into.

Actually I think that we have put more planning into logistic type things like uniforms, drinks and tents and seating than we have spent on what coverages and plays that will work when we have the ball.

As quick as summer is getting here I worry more about sunscreen and shade than what plays we will run. Man it is hot and I worry more that our guys will drink enough and that they stay in good shape hydration wise.

Both of the tourney's I have been at so far the schools (China Spring & Gatesville) have done great jobs taking special care of the kids and that's what this is all about.

way to go tigers! good luck to the rest of the schools as well w/ their 7 on 7 action this summer and be safe! I broke my jaw before my senior year playing 7 on 7 and believe me eating through a straw with your mouth wired shut for two months is no bueno!
