Four #1 seeds, including two national seeds (FSU and Georgia) lost today. Stanford and Long Beach State were the other two. Five #3 seeds won today, as well, which aren't quite as big of upsets.

Tomorrow in Tallahassee, Florida State and Florida will be facing off in perhaps the best elimination matchup of the day.

UT leads SHSU 13-1 in the 7th...

Assuming they hold on for the win, they'll play the loser of the Rice vs. St. John's game (which starts at 6pm) tomorrow

So, did they UT hold on for the win?

Yep... UT will have a rematch with St. John's tomorrow and the winner will have to beat Rice twice to advance to the superregionals

Both Rice and A&M just need to win one more game each to advance to the superregional, where they would go up against each other for one of the 8 College World Series slots

Here are the Final 48... all 8 of the top national seeds are still alive although 3 of them have to win tomorrow to avoid elimination

Texas leads St. John's 4-1 going to the 9th. Looks like they'll survive to play Rice.

UH and UIC are tied 11-11 in the 10th

St. John's made a comeback in the bottom of the 9th and almost took it. They had the bases loaded only trailing by 1 but UT closed it out and won 4-3.

I've updated the bracket with all the games that have been completed so far today. 4 of the elimination games on the West Coast are still in progress while several of the Finals are already underway on the East Coast.

UH just won 14-11 in 11 innings over Illinois-Chicago so the A&M vs UH and Texas vs Rice games should be going simultaneously in just a little bit.

A&M will have another chance tomorrow as UH has to beat them twice to advance
