when was burnet last this close in the playoffs

everyone is so hyped up about going to state... i know it's a big thang but hasn't it ever happened before? i mean is this really the first year that we have actually come this far?

Burnet went to the big dance in 1991 and lost 7-0 to Grosbeck. We were 12-0 and then tied Vernon 20-20, followed by Marble Falls 14-14 and Southlake Carroll 7-7. Burnet advanced on penetrations on two occasions and first downs on the third (don't recall which was which). That was the first time Burnet ever got past bi-district in 70 years of football. Burnet ran the wishbone then and continued until Bob Shipley came in 2001 and installed a wide open offense. The next closest was in 1999 we lost to Mathis in the in the Quarters.
