What DID you do Memorial Day?

I know we've had the post of what everyone's plans for the holiday was, but even the best laid plans can go to waste.


What actually did you do for Memorial Day this weekend?

changed the oil in my car. bbq'd twice. sold some stuff for some money. watched a few movies. played some guitar. spent time with my kids. great weekend. :)

Vegged around. Washed clothes. Made some steaks.

We had to cancel plans with friends so I could take my wife to the minor emergency clinic. She has a terrible case of strep throat.:( :( :(

Got up and scratched myself some.
Went to the bathroom, scratched some more.
finally got dressed about 9.
Took my wife to Bucks for breakfast, then to Wally world for potting soil.
Came home, unloaded the potting soil, then kicked back in my lazyboy, scratched even more.
Went and got my oil changed, took a nap on the couch at the Ford house. Resisted the urge to scratch in public.
Went home, got sweaty helping the wife, took a shower. Ahh that felt good!
Drove to Ft. Worth.
And here I am. Scratching of course. :D

pretty much what we did....... also got caught up on about 15 hours of Law and Order (s), CSI (Miami, Vegas and New York), Criminal Minds, Boston Legal, watched NCIS marathan and my soap.

Ms Villa unpluged my fridge in the garage and the deer I had went bad, boy did it stink. I then had to take my fridge out to the driveway and wash it, and let it air out all weekend. I might leave it in the driveway.

edged, mowed, weed eated, cut back some landscape in the back and front yard since I have a house to sell... also taking the day off tomorrow to drive to the hill country to meet people...

Friday night - Playoff game @ Forney
Saturday - Shopping then to Lake Athens (BBQ)
Sunday - BBQ all day
Monday- Lawn work & BBQ

I gained 15 lbs.

Friday - Trustee work at church (change light bulbs, move pews, etc.) followed by nap, followed by mowing yard, took spousal unit out for dinner & margaritas
Saturday - Moved dirt for flower beds, vegetable garden, holes dug in back yard by mischievous Lab, went to theater (live) with spouse & Mom-in-Law
Sunday - church, nap, golf, yard work, BBQ, Shiner
Monday - moved more dirt, more yard wok, rebuilt vegetable garden bed, planted okra, nap, played with mischievous Lab, grilled chicken breasts and stuffed jalapenos while consuming mass quantities of Shiner

Did a little fishin' during the cooler parts of saturday and sunday, bass were bitin' pretty well:)

We took the kids to visit Granny in Victoria. Watched the Pistons vs Celtics in the NBA game.

Most important as I do on these type of holidays is go visit the two War Memorials we have at the Courthouse in Sinton in honor of our veterans who have served, risked and given their lives (both now and in the past and the future) to protect us in order that we can enjoy our freedom as we do now.

Friday after work - Double header softball games. The first time I have played in two years. 4 for 6 with 4 RBI's and 27 sore musles and joints. A 54 year old sholud not play a double header after not playing for two years.

Saturday afternoon - Golf skins game (Booster tournament)

Sunday afternoon - Golf

Monday morning - Golf (interrupted after 7 holes by rain)

Seriously though, filling those feeders feels like filling the ol' gas tank nowadays!!!! Our feed bill will be off the charts this year:(

the best was one that was pregnant with six little destroyers of fences and deer feeders. so that counted as 7 points instead of just the one kill. ;)

Friday - 14 hours on the highway, went to a trailer
Saturday - Killed some pigs, went to a barn, then got my truck stuck in a torrential downpour
Sunday - Went to a bar near that barn, saw my buddy's little brother's band play, got birthday beers from my friends' parents, that was neat
Monday - Cleaned gutters, napped, cleaned more gutters, and watched That '70's show while napping again.
