This is a small unincorporated community located in Polk County, Texas about 90 north of Houston on Highway 59. The populated is estimated at 170.
In the 1960s when the cold war was reaching it's peak with the former Soviet Union the people of Moscow, Texas sent a petition to the U.S.S.R. requesting they change their main City, Moscow, to something else because they didn't want to share the same city name. The Russians never responded.
