Congratulations! If this is your first child, your life has changed forever. If not, your life has still changed forever. Welcome to the world of fatherhood! Remember: any male can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a daddy.

Wow... thanks for all the congratulations and questions...I'll try to answer as many of them as possible at once.

7 lbs. exactly
19.5 inches
born at 9:29 a.m.

This is our first! Also, first grandchild for both sets of parents, first great grandchild for two sets of grandparents, and first great great grandchild for my two great grandmothers.

Emerson: I'm at work all day today, so I'll get right on fixing my fantasy football player's stats...

Sweetwater Red: She'll probably have a sibling before the next time that the Red Wings win the cup! :evillol:

Funny story...when my wife was having some of her worst contractions, I tried to be humorous and asked her if now would be a bad time to ask when she might want to do this again...she saw the humor in it, but both of our mothers literally wanted to strangle me.

And for anybody who has yet to become a parent out there, I would just like to say that I've never felt so unworthy of anything in my life. Why God has chosen to bless us with another living soul to care for and provide for over the next 18+ years is absolutely amazing.

My wife wanted a Biblical name, and despite my requests for Jezebel, Hannah won out. DeAnn is my wife's middle name, and she wanted to pass it down.

But have you changed your first diaper yet? My guess is NO! And if she is the first grandchild for both sets of parents you may never have to change a diaper, at least for several months. This child has no chance except to be unbelievalby spoiled. Not by her parents, but by her grandparents. Thats just part of life, so enjoy it while you can. Congrats!

I have a great story about having my first child I'll share with you later. You being a sports fan and all I know you would enjoy it.

Me? no...but my wife changed 3 poopy diapers already yesterday. Apparently Hannah is advanced in that aspect, as we were told that it's not unusual for the baby to go a more than a full day before her first poop.

She was a total rockstar...

She kept telling me throughout the pregnancy how she was just going to go in there, pop it out, and be done with it. She did all sorts of workouts and videos that are supposed to help pregnant women prepare for labor.

When it came time for pushing, they almost couldn't get the doctor in the room fast enough. The doctor kept telling her she was doing a good job, but I didn't know if he was just saying that to be supportive, but I looked around the room (they have like 7 nurses in the room at the time of delivery) and they all were looking at her in a sort of surprised shock. Afterward, a nurse came back to her recovery room just to tell her that she was the easiest and best natural child birth that the nurse had ever seen.

Congrats and great pics. I love my kids and would not trade the experience for the world.
My brother who oddly has no children has a great phrase for them.

Hours of entertainment for only pennies a day.

Enjoy her while she is young cause she will grow up and then you will have to start worrying bout the boys.

Girls are cheaper on car insurance, but very costly when it comes to Proms, weddings etc. :D

Be ready, a girl can always get her dad to buy anything she wants. Dads have trouble sayin no to their little girls.

Holly goes back to work on Monday, just in time for the annual 4th of July event where she'll put in about 15 hours that day. It's amazing how quickly Hannah has learned things...she's already trying to roll over. We have a feeling she's going to be a very early crawler!

Granted, the two of them still get pretty worn out in the evenings!
