Nice win Gobblers........ will face Medina Valley next week..........

After the game, some of the Mathis fans (mostly kids I assume) threw trash over the fence and onto the field after the game - totally classless thing to do - #24 for Mathis went and took his teammates and picked the trash up - Hats off to you #24

it happens... it's called "Grab-Sack Syndrom"... usually it's not a grab, just a "wait, are they still there? do I even have any?" type deal...

but sometimes it means "crap, left my jock in Mathis/Insert Town here"....

i just think that is one of the last ppl that needs to be doing that the whole game because thats like where everyone is looking at the batter and he is right there and nobody wants to see that 24-7

it's just funny to me that it was the catcher... I knew two brothers in HS that did it NON-STOP... one just wrapped up his college career at UHV, as the CATCHER... maybe his last name is Orosco? I'm serious, those dudes would grab junk all day... it was hilarious...

I have a theory - he was just bored to tears waiting on the pitcher to throw the dang ball...... He had to do something to pass the time :D :D it seemed like it took 5 mins between each pitch........ drug out the game way too long....... guess that was a stradegy or something.....

CHSfan
05-16-2008, 10:52 PM
that game could have been over alot faster if they wouldnt have drug it out!

I was glad to see Brubaker got Tyler's homerun on tape. That was a shot. I was also glad to see the play at home and the one at second base. The Mathis fans went crazy with the umpires on those two calls. Looks like they got them right to me.

The calls at first base were kind of unnerving for both sides. You know how the first baseman will lean toward the incoming ball to catch it. Somtimes your foot comes off a split second before you actually catch it as you are trying to make the next throw? Well this umpire was calling people safe on that nifty little move. I have never seen it called but technically he is right.

From the Victoria Advocate:

“I was thinking if he made a mistake I was going to be ready for it,” Arndt said of his fourth home run of the season. “He left it right over the middle and I pretty much hit it out of here. They had their momentum, their crowd was loud and that pretty much shut them up after that.”

I love our QB :inlove:
