7-7 in 8th...Erstad pinch hit 3-run bullet to tie it!

This team never quits.

1st row laser shot.

I would drag bunt Bourn right here w/ 1 out...but he may walk anyway. Get on for the thumpers...

He's struggling...not as much as Towles though. I would have bunted there & gotten Ausmus to 2nd base with 2 outs, plus Bourn might beat it out.

Ready for Towles to find himself at RR & bring up Quintero for a while to platoon w/ Ausmus. I like Towles but he looks lost at plate & needs to find his confidence again.

And Matsui singles, so Ausmus would have scored! Darn...

time for Pence who is quietly (because of Berkman) batting .372 in May to knock him in....

sahen

darn...hopefully we can hold them and score a couple in the top of the 9th

Pence fouls out to end top of 8th.

If Bourn is gonna stay in big leagues, he has to bunt more often. He's hitting below .200 & OB% is horrible too. Amazing to be playing this well w/ 2 starters hitting that poorly (Bourn & Towles), plus Wigginton has struggled too coming back from injuries.

Trying to be patient w/ Bourn, but just reality...

they can be patient w/ bourn as long as we are winning...they probably brought him up a little early cause we needed the speed and he has the potential to be a really good number 1 hitter...if he doesnt come around and we start losing then they will prolly send him back down...

Or just drop him in order to 8th...he's hurting team right now at top. Defense & baserunning are great, but you can't steal 1st base! Erstad may get more playing time too...

Kenny Lofton is a turd, but he is available & could help us in CF while grooming Bourn.

i am a fan of letting him see as many pitches as possible while we can (while we are winning)...i think he will come out of his slump/learning curve quicker than Towles...

Past the 1/4 mark of season... time to make tough decisions soon. Bourn was not a great hitter in college either at UH. Speed is his entire game. Again, needs to bunt more.

You play 162...all games count the same. I expect Towles to be sent down shortly & Bourn to move to 8th in order too. That weakens bottom of order but you gotta do something.

Matsui
Pence
Tejada
Berkman
Lee
Wigginton/Blum/Loretta
Ausmus/Quintero
Bourn
Pitcher

**unless we sign Lofton to play CF...

Good call! He did have a single & 2 RBIs earlier. Man can flat rake.

Probably right on Coop, but hard decisions are coming at some point. I like Bourn & Towles, but they have to perform too.

Did yall see that story that ESPN aired about more finesse teams are doing well since 2006 and the power teams are struggling. All because of the Mitchell report.

16th ball by opponent to reach Cove in air. Should have seen the foul shot by Lee earlier too...he did hit one in 8th though. Lee is starting to heat up along w/ Pence. Tejada has been solid all year of course w/ Berkman.

Yes, saw it. Truth is in the #s. HRs & power #s are way down over past 2 years. Drug testing anyone?

Glad small ball & real baseball are back personally.

Can't leave this team, 13th comeback of season I believe. Incredible record so far after 6-12 start to season.

1st time since May of 2000 to come back & win from 6 runs down.

Wow.

Greatest comeback win ever. Lol. Maybe not, but still a great game.

Berkman is on fire and it looks like Lee is coming on too.

Let's go to Arlington and win the first series of the Silver Boot.
