Simply opinion, not an exact science by any stretch. Shephard is more of an athlete than pure qb too.

Much like John Chiles...athlete more than qb but he can play. I've watched him here in Houston.

Think so too. Plus Gilbert is heir apparent anyway after McCoy.

i think there is alot of money to be made where alot of people want to pay it. most college coaches (the good recruiting coaches anyway) have things they look for and things they see their teams needing or a skill that a player has that they want. in these cases, Im sure USC, LSU and Texas all saw things in film that attracted them to recruit that player. things like rivals, and espn, and other recruiting agencies really probably dont play as big a role in the grand scheme of things as we'd all like to believe. here in Texas we all know there is a plethora of talent and it gives us a warm and fuzzy if one of the players on a team we love and support gets recruited or goes to a big-time school. but with such a large amount of talent that we observe if we get to see a kids name go on a website or in the paper we feel good because they are going to potentially have the opportunity to succeed that any of us may not necessarily have had. so in essence, the money train that carries those things is conducted by you and me.
