I wish the NCAA would bust a name program like USC to spur changes in the system. It would not be perfect but people would take notice for sure. IMO that's what it's going to take.

I don't know much about the situation, but why did SMU get the death penalty back in the day when it seems like there is a myriad of colleges caught up in scandalous acts?

Flagrant recruiting violations over a number of years for SMU, which are really tough to top. I remember hearing that the NCAA said there would never be another death penalty.

I remember hearing that as well. I recall them saying that they never dreamed that a 2 year period would have caused as much damage as what it actually caused.
