I remember many years ago that the Astros were on the road and were behind 8 to 1 going into the top of the 9th inning and it looked bad because they had not been hitting. In the 9th inning they exploded and score 9 runs to take the lead 10 to 8. I don't remember who they played but then the other team batted in the bottom of the nineth and made it interesting scoring 1 run but the Astros held on and won 10 to 9. Very exciting indeed. I think the game was in the late 60s or early 70s.

In my youth years growing up in the 50s and 60s

I had a old AM transiistor radio and listend to astros - falling to sleep and while we went fishing to Matagorda

Wharton KANI and Bay City KIOX AM stations both broadcast the games- when it was hard to to catch them on Houston stations

El Campo Am station also broadcast them for a while.

I think the La Grange AM station KVLG- 1570 also carreid them

Not sure if Gonzales AM station KCTI AM 1450 still carries them or not

If im not catching them on XM- I catch the broadcast on KULM In Columbus

Victoria had a AM station that used to carry the Astros too but now sure if they still do

There were a lot more am stations in South Texas in the 60s and 70s that aired high school football, basketball and baseball game

They are some stil around but not as many

The Astros have looked very good in this series. I hope they can keep up this momentum.

KTRH has a signal that blasts up and down the coast. Comes in loud & clear in the Rio Grande Valley

Astros are playing well. Crazy game of baseball...get no-hit for 6.2 innings & then explode for 8 runs. Total team effort up & down the order.

This team is fun to watch, lots of fight & never quit. I still wonder about the pitching long-term, but I am pleasantly surprised right now & let's keep it going.

Berkman is a serious Triple Crown Candidate. I know it's early, but we all know Berkman can flat hit. His #s are sick so far.

i have grown my hair out samson like because of berkman, he is a man among boys...somehow he is overshadowing the awesome season Tejada is having as well, and that is hard to do considering Tejada's numbers....
