It was only the drive thru. The line was all the way down the
access road. There was an employee standing on the side of
the road holding a sign. It read "free food". There was another
sign on the building that said "two tacos 99 cents". I figured
they were giving away a couple of tacos with your order. Nope,
everything was free. I got a sirlion steak melt...It was excellent
because I LIKE cheese.:D

I had never heard of a restaurant doing this before is it common
in big towns?

Okay, is there some reason you couldn't have told us this yesterday when we could actually have benefited from it?

maybe it was a promotional deal to get people to eat there, enjoy the food, and come back...

the same way drug dealers work, they give the first bag/sack/whatever away, and then hope the customers come back for more....

Maybe the only way they could get anyone to come? I hate their "Jack the idiot" advertisements. Perhaps they are not attempting to appeal to my particular demographic? Except for the free food, of course!

Thing about Jack in the Box imo is that they seem cheap with the dollar stuff but the value meals are very expensive. As far as what you pay for their meals you could go somewhere like Whataburger and get a lot better quality.

It seems like all the "value" meals these days at a fast food place aren't a very good "value"!
