He wasn't mad until my husband started jacking with him with a shovel.

A rattlesnake is the only kind of snake I will kill around here, the rest don't bother me.

Oh well at least he got it before he made it into the house.

My Australian Shephard/Border Collie mix dog is freaking me out.

The snake is laying on the patio with no head and he is guarding it...(he ran and hid while we were trying to kill it.) If any of the other dogs gets near it, he starts barking his high pitched "warning" bark...and they all back off!!

I guess he thinks he is protecting them!!

I hope my husband throws the snake over the fence before he goes to bed. I hate to think of Bandit protecting his backyard buddies from a dead snake all night!!

There was a hawk in my backyard last night eating a snake. I went out to see what knid of snake it was and the hawk flew into one of my pecan trees to eat it. Whatever it was, it was about 4 foot long.

Yeah, but where is it's Moma? It could be under Ranger Mom's bed waiting for revenge for killing it's baby!:flaming:  :D

That is actually my biggest concern! I know from past experience, you find one that small around your house, there is usually a den nearby!!

Needless to say, I was very observant while walking out to the driveway this morning!!

Yeah, that would be wise. Anytime you see a baby snake there's a den of 'em somewhere nearby. Snakes are really bad this year. In my neck of the woods it's copperheads that are really bad.

It has a zoom (I was about 3 feet away on the other side of the fence)...Jimmy was standing right there with the shovel.

I was trying to get a pic of him striking at the shovel....that is one thing I hate about my digital camera....too long of a delay (especially at night!)

Good for you RM, a lot of folk just think all no shouldered critters are bad!
