This has to be one of the most storied program in history, I beleive only one team has won a state championship in football and basketball in the same year, Groesbeck almost did this in 1991. I'm not sure of the team to accomplish this, but I beleive it was done some time ago. eek!

Southlake Carroll pulled it off in the early 90s as a 3A school. Think it was 93 but could be wrong.

according to a past thread, Southlake Carroll did it in '93 in 3A. Hope someone knows checks this out, or knows where to look it up!

I think Dumas won state in football and basketball in the same season (and with the same athletes) in the early 60's in the old 3a, which became 4a. They also made it to the state tournament in baseball in 1963 but I am not certain if that was the same year as their championships in football and bb.

Lets play "what-if" what-if Everman scores something like 4-more points in last yrs. bball regional finals game against G'ville?? Then Everman could possibly be looking at repeating as 2 yr champs in both sports!!!!

It should have been since they were leading by at least 18 in the first and in to the second period. But as most of know and see, a lead can and did change in the drop of the hat. By the end of the second period I think we were down by 2 with three pointer at the buzzer. That is why once you get to the playoffs you never let up until the final buzzer sounds. Just ask Merkel...
