:iagree:

There's no beans in "real" chili !!

To me, that's like putting ketchup on a ribeye.

Or, like frying squirrel in corn meal.

Or, like carrying a ball retriever in your golf bag.

Or, like taking a shower in a raincoat.

I could go on and on..........

what designates "real" chili anyway? Where does the aura of making a chili "real" come from?

I've always wondered, because it seems there are many differing opinions on what "real" chili is anyway.

Chili beans... :p And I've never been to Terlingua to the chili thing, so whatever the family likes sets the standard here. ;)

Aren't chili beans pinto beans?

And you scared me there with the misquote...I had to go back and re-read my post to make sure I hadn't messed up!

Course ground chili meat is better than regular hamburger meat

And some gristle in it makes it taste better

The worst chile I ever ate ......was good. Same with ice cream. I even like the nasty ol' chile you get at the concession stand.
