Diabetes and Football Players

What effect does diabetes have on a football player? Jay Cutler has diabetes and will continue to play as stories have reported. Is there any reason he shouldn't continue to play?

Why they call it diabetes? They get people all riled up. That's why Karl Malone say change name diabetes to livebetes. That way, people won't go walking around saying "oh no, I'm gonna diabetes." I have diabetes and while I am not a pro athlete , it has not altered any of my physical activities. Should not bother his career in any way , he should become a spokeperson and role model for the disease.

Physical activity and working out is good for diabetes....it will help keep his blood sugar lower but if it gets to low he'll just have to drink some gatorade/powerade.

if managed properly throughout a lifetime then diabetes should not prevent someone from doing most-anything
