Ok I've had three mugs of coffee to wake up this morning. What a game. Plan to start late to beat the sun, then have to battle a left field light all night long. It went from out, to strobe blinking, to five lights on to two lights on. I think everyone would have been better off to have just started the game on time and left the stupid thing off. Even advantage for both teams.

Good game, Giddings left too many on base and were not disciplined at the plate. Hitting the ball most of the night, but right to 'em, easy outs. Tigers hit the ball well, but Giddings made some pretty outstanding catches in the outfield & catcher picked a couple off, Masek threw a lot, alot of pitches.

Wharton definitely was there, on the field and in the stands. Great crowd and enthusiasm, nice to see the support Wharton brought. Giddings stands were a little sparse since Lady Buffs are playing too. I'm glad the Kingwood team sat on our side to scout or we would have been really empty. Kingwood's radar gun clocked Masek and Marlow in mid to upper 80's. I took a picture, by the way.

Buffs will settle down today and get that first playoff game jitter behind them I think. Way to scrap one out Buffs!!!!

Got in the bed @ 1:45 am, got up @ 3 am to put the uniform in the dryer then up again @ 7:30 am to get him on the bus. I don't know if Wharton rode home or stayed in Sealy but we will all be bleary eyed today. Hope the sunshine can wake everyone up.

Thank you Domino's pizza for staying open late and bringin the pizza to the boys in the parking lot. 10 pizzas disappeared in a hearbeat.

Don't doubt that one bit. Probably pitches around 84-86 mph, might touch 87ish. What I have doubted is when some say 90s + for kids I have never heard of, nor have scouting friends. I know from experience playing & working in the business how rare "9s" are at that level. That's only one component anyway but sure nice to have. I wish the kid all the best.

good job buffs, keep proving me wrong and right at the same time. I said no one in our district would have much luck in the playoffs, and followed that by saying that I felt we were the only team with the bats to do so.

Keep the bats in a warmer for next week, and knock in some of those you left on base this week. Our pitching isn't quite there yet this year to take care of business very deep, so keep the runs coming.

No fire in Wharton today. Don't know if it was losing the first game, lack of sleep, or no confidence in their pitching (last one is my guess) No spirit like I saw Friday night, in the stands or on the field. Tigers hit a few good line drives and 1 HR that was a shot (#12) but not like we saw on Fri night. Good play by #10 3B a great fielder, kids were calling him "Mr. Vacuum Cleaner"

Buffs settled down like I knew they would and used their heads at the plate. A little easier to do today because Wharton pitcher struggled from the beginning. Z Berry did an excellent job on the mound and has continued to come on strong for the Buffs. Gidding still left too many runners on base. Work on that this week and they will be ready to roll against Kingwood Park Panthers. one game or series and time/place will be determined Monday. Hearing that Kingwood only has a couple of pitchers so I'll bet we will flip for choice of series/one game.

Buffs are having fun again, when that happens, things will happen for them. Seen it too many times since they were about 6 yrs old.
