Needville

Good team & well-coached. Good young pitcher too. Lots of team speed. I don't know much about Caldwell, but Needville is a quality team. Should be a good one.

There is 40% chance of rain in South Texas

If Friday's games cant be played-it reverts to a one game take all on Saturday if weather permits

If rain out Sat- schools need UIL permission to play or Monday or call a flip

Still im sure UIL would let them play-

Called UIL to verify the situation

The only chance Caldwell has is if they pitch their 90 mph guy. If 90 isnt hit on the gun, then Needville will win by a bunch. Im going with Needville in 2. 9-2 in first game and a 10 run ruling in the second game. Birds bust out the brooms.

All district teams haven't been released yet. Are you just making this up or going on last year's awards?

Who's throwing LEGIT 90 mph from Caldwell? I want to see proof of that & where is he going to college...?

I DIDN'T MAKE IT UP. SINCE THEY'RE "RETURNING" STARTERS, I'M GUESSING IT WOULD BE LAST YEAR.

Eubanks from Caldwell is going to Blinn.

from my kid hitting against him, he is mid to upper 80's with a nasty curve. Definitely one of the top two pitchers in Dist 23.

Caldwell hasn't hit or played defense consistently this year. They do have the ability to shut down the bats but they will have to put together their own offense & come away with a clean game defensively.

Good luck to the Hornets and Eubanks. Hope you have a good game and somebody can take a picture of the gun. I've seen him several times & I think he has legitimately hit that speed, not every time and not every one a strike but he can bring it ...........
but most people need a little more proof than what some Mom sees from a yard chair.

Well played game by both teams. It was 1-0 Bluejays for most of the night. In the top of the 6th Caldwell got a clutch two out, 2 run, single to put them ahead 2-1. But in the bottom of the 6th Needville came back with a 3 spot. In the top of the 7th Caldwell drove home a run and loaded the bases with two outs but could not tie the game as a line out to left ended it. Game 2 is Saturday at 1:00.

WP- Michael McGuire

LP- Scott Ofczarzak

SV- Colton Schmidt

Is McGuire Needville's #1?

I know some coaches approach these series games differently, right Collins...

sounds like both teams came through w/ some clutch hitting

anyone gonna be updating saturday's game 2

Caldwell 10
Needville 8

Game 3
Needville 5
Caldwell 4

Great season Hornets. Hold your heads up high! Lots of people on here had ya'll going 2 and out with Needville...even thought you would be run-ruled. Both teams scored 17 runs in the series.

Good luck to the Blue Jays. Well coached team and respectful players.
