What are some of the nicknames that coaches stuck on kids and how they originated that you remember. Coaches (and Chris Berman) seem to have a special knack for giving good nicknames.


Danny Madula (pronounced ma-doo-la) ------Coach Sandifer at Wylie called him "Funky Cold"

Ricky Colt--------- My HS coach tagged him "Blue Oyster"

My favorite Chris Berman nickname was for former Ranger outfielder Odibe (pronounced O-du-be) McDowell. He called him Odibe "young again" McDowell.

I don't remember the athletes name, and several may have aquired this nickname as well, but I remember a DB on some football team being given the nickname "toast" because he always got burned.
