How good is he? How good will he be? Should Jerry trade up to get him?

I think #5 had better stay humble and remember that he is just one part of a team . . . if not a dynamic duo.

Or . . . he might not find the pass slipping through his fingers ever again . . . on the last offensive play of the game. :(

That drop against Okie Lite was one of the best things that's ever happened to Texas Tech. So even when Crabtree doesn't make the big play...he still helps the team.

If he doesn't drop that pass...then Leach probably doesn't force out his long time friend Lyle Setentich (ex-DC). Instead, Coach Set would've stayed in through the end of the season, then MAYBE he leaves...and the momentum Coach Ruff has built in the defense and on the recruiting trail wouldn't exist. So it's ok....be glad Crabs dropped that pass! ;)

So a dropped pass by the offense costs the DC his job?

No, the fact that the previous DC never established a decent defense to help out the offense, when needed, cost him his job. :p

They lost because the defense gave up:

- 49 points
- 610 total yds
- 244 passing yds
- 366 rushing yds
- 60% (12 of 20) 3rd down conversion rate
- 75% (3 of 4) 4th down conversion rate
- TD plays of 46, 48, 33, and 54 yards
- A TD of 54 yards on the first play of a drive when your team is up 3 with 1:37 left on the clock.

However...if they don't lose that game...Leach probably rips on the defense for such a bad performance, rips on the offense for only scoring 10 pts in the second half...yet doesn't get rid of the DC because they won the game.
