**We did this a couple of years ago in 2006, so it should need to be updated (old thread is now closed). West Columbia people: I think we all forgot Jim Ray Smith when we did this previously (+ we had listed Charlie Johnson, Charlie Davis, Dennis Gaubatz, & Wayne Williams). Please correct me if I missed any more. Cuero's Cody Wallace is a new addition for them (SF 49ers) & they have had quite a few (how many?). Perryton's Caleb Campbell has a chance to make the Detroit Lions too. Who else needs to be added?**

Just for fun, let's get a thread started on how many guys from your high school have gone on to play pro football. Not every kid that has played college or come close, etc., but ONLY those that have made it to some level of professional football. Let's stick to football only for this thread.

I will get it started, & please try to be accurate & do your research please. Should be interesting & fun to see the results. If I missed someone, let me know.

The one and only NFL player from Castleberry High School. I know, big deal, but its a neat bit of info for a high school with a pretty rocky football history.I can't find any information for any of his stats or accomplishments in high school or college.

1. Mike Richardson

College: SMU

NFL: (drafted in the 6th round of '69) Houston Oilers 1969-1971

Two other 3A guys I forgot yesterday:

Red Bryant - DT Jasper HS/Texas A&M - drafted by Seattle Seahawks in 4th round

Jermichael Finley - TE Diboll HS/Texas - drafted by GB Packers in 3rd round

Wasn't NFL HOF Dick "Night Train" Lane from Diboll? I know he used to live there anyway because his son was a heck of an athlete & Sweeny beat them one year in Basketball Regionals when I was a junior high kid. We ran into him at a restaurant afterwards in Brenham & my dad spoke to him about his career. It was pretty cool & he was a nice guy - big too.

Is his son's name Frank?

Found this in the archives from 21 years ago

Diboll High School's basketball standout Frank Lane is named to play in two all-star games- Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Camp in Waco and Texas High School Coaches Association in Fort Worth.

Sounds right, thanks for the help. Much appreciated. His dad was a great one & son wasn't bad himself.
