Three men are going to split a motel room. The price is $30. Each of them give him a $10 bill. The clerk later realized he had charged them too much, that the price should have been $25. He get 5 $1 bill and gives them to the bell boy and tells him to take it to the 3 men. The bell boy gives each man $1 and sticks $2 in his pocket.

So now the room has actually cost each man $9.00 right? $10.00 and got $1 back. OK, 9x3 is $27 and the bell boy has $2 in his pocket. Where is the extra $1.00?

It cost them $30 and they got a 3-dollar refund...numbers can be fooled with, but if you shake them more than three times, it's called playing with them.

The three dollars refunded are in their pockets. 27+3 = 30. The three men are missing $2 which is in the pocket of the bell boy.

the bellboy took that money from the total so you would subtract it, not add it..... 25 for the rooms, 3 dollars back 2 to the bell boy...30$..... there isnt a missing dollar.

30 dollars - 5 =25 each man gets a dollar back 25 + 3 = 28 plus the 2 the boy has equals 30!

That's an old riddle that I told back in the late 70's. Funny how jokes and riddles seem to recycle through time.

The room only cost the guys $8.33 x 3= 25

They all got $1 back so that is $9.33 and he kept $2

That's what my wife just said too. Anyway, Stang, I can't believe that you haven't asked what the 3 guys were up to staying in the same room. That's what I would have asked.

BTW Stang, I've got another one for YOU. Carmen Electra, Farah Fawcett, and Raquel Welch were staying in the same room at a hotel, OK? That should help you figure out the riddle. :D :D

Lake? River? Tank? Come on! That's not enough information. What kind of bait? Stink, live (baby kittens, etc), artificial, etc.
Come on!!! :vrycnfsd: :vrycnfsd:

You are walking through the town square one evening and the bell tower in the courhouse starts to chime 6 o'clock. You look at your watch and notice that it takes 6 seconds to strike 6. The next day you walk by at noon just as the clock starts to strike 12. You notice that the clock does not take 12 seconds and you think there is something wrong with the clock. Then you realize that it is really okay after all. How long does it take the clock to strike 12?

It should actually take slightly longer than 12 seconds to strike 12 (longer by how much time there is between strikes).

When you hear it strike 6, you start counting at the sound of the first strike.

6pm: o--o--o--o--o--o = 6 seconds
12pm: o--o--o--o--o--o--o--o--o--o--o--o = 12+ seconds (however long that -- is between the 6th and 7th strikes)
