Basketball players doing well in Shot Put

A basketball weighs about 20 ounces. A shot weighs 8.8 pounds for girls competition and 12 pounds for boys. Yet some notable basketball players are slinging their weight around this track season with district titles in the shot put:

Emily Atkins from Crandall is a Sophomore basketball player.....started as a Freshman and was District MVP this year as a Sophomore I believe and she has been throwing over 40 all year. I believe threw 41-something this past weekend
