21-3A has 3 teams in the top 11. Bridge City, Hardin-Jefferson, and Jasper. Both of Jasper's losses to Bridge City were by 1 run. I hope the Bulldogs are ready for a post season run again this year.:)

Mathis and Falfurrias started slow and some losses to lower classifications drop them out in the start of the season.

It's like being ranked is a curse. Hutto and Cameron proceded to go 1-3 and 0-4 in the first round of district to fall from the rankings. Rockdale jumps into the top 20, then loses four straight to fall out. And after moving into the top 10 last week, Taylor drops two games to fall out. Meanwhile, Liberty Hill hasn't cracked the top 20 all year and now has a chance to wrap up the district crown.

After starting the year 3-7, we have turned it around, going 11-3-1 over the last 15 with our only losses being to Bandera, Taylor, and Hutto. And if not for the time limit in the B'wood tourny, we'd be 12-3.

Yeah right, our predistrict schedule had six teams on it that have won state championships in 3A and 4A. That's pretty weak alright.

Moody, Carroll and Calallen are legit. Six teams that won state is cool to say, but when did they win state? Are those state calibar players on the squad now? If not than you got nothing to brag about.

I expect a decent run by the jerseys this year... They started very slow, but seem to be gaining confidence on a team filled with soph's and seniors...

Neither have I seen them this year, but Jasper has seen them. Feb. 26 Jasper won by 15-5 over Hudson. But that was early in the season. Hudson is clearly a much better team now.

Like I said, I wouldn't consider Falfurrias and Mathis as "weak". The point is there are more quality teams in R4 than the three you mentioned. It isn't bragging to say this area is a hotbed for baseball, just plain fact. But if that's what you want to believe, knock yourself out.

Outside of Sinton, maybe 2 teams tops have won state in baseball since 1980 out of Region IV. Most seem to come out of region III, some out of Region II.

I never said Sinton isnt great, i watched you guys play last year in the state tournament, that alone means you are a great team, just like earlier when i said you were. I stated that top to bottom i do not think theres as much talent in Region IV.

haha, well you must not think much of Liberty Hill either then, since one of the "weak" teams of region four (Bandera) gave you one of your losses. Wow, Region 4 is really weak. And Region 3 teams, apparently just because they are from 3, are better. Even though teams that barely make the top 5 from r4 have given what is your opinion to be one of the best in region three one of their few losses.

The road to Austin through R4 is going to be nasty.

Let us not forget the 6-1 beating in LH:) Where the strong Bandera bats mustered 4 hits and struck out 10 times:thinking:

I didn't take what you said as anything against Sinton. I disagreed with your assessment of R4 in general. Still do. Until you play some of these teams on the field, you can't really know how good/bad they are. We've played Fal, Mathis, and Pleasanton, so we know better. I wouldn't take any of them for granted.

all your wins over those teams were fairly easy, except for the Mathis game in the 2nd half of district yall have cruised through those teams. Which means they arent elite.

i was implying a little of that lol but if they are going to be considered a strong region 4 team, they should be able to make sinton work for those victories. And from the scores, it appears that they were not.

3A looks good
4A is going to be a slobberknocker...last 3 years the champs have come from Region IV(Calallen, New Braunfels and Moody). With Canyon playing good ball and Lake Travis as well, May be safe to predict, championship game will be played in Region IV this year.

Sinton was the last 3a team to win it from region IV correct?
