I'm torn here... I'm a big Spurs fan, so I want them to win, but I don't want to hear the Phoenix coach cry cry cry if they lose...

Why is Phx having scrubs take the last shots when you have Steve Nash on your team?

Whenever I think that we should fire Avery, I am going to just remember we could have Mike D'antoni.

press confrence:

"So what's the biggest thing you guys need to work on now that you've lost game one in two overtimes?"

"Well, Bill, Obviously we've gotta get the calls, I mean it starts right there"

Classic game!! Didn't Phoenix learn in the first OT to foul when up by 3? I guess not because they didn't do it in the 2nd OT. Great win by the Spurs!

MDT isn't smart enough to just let him go 1 on 1 at the end of games.

maybe just maybe i am starting to belive the suns can not beat the spurs in a series and i think the suns are starting to belive that to. The suns had this game and perhaps the series gift wraped to them by the way the spurs played in the entire regulation if you ask me. The suns never deliverd that dagger to the heart that would of finished the spurs, duncan was just wow......all time great performance by him no doubt. they just stuck around kept battling and never gave up when the bounces and calls did not go there way and got the job done in the end. A game like this sent a message to the entire nba that if you are going to dethrone the defending champions you are going to have to play 42min of perfect basketball. now from here on out is were the spurs got the avantage, pop is the best active coach in the nba on making adjustments and exposing a teams weakness. with that said suns battle but spurs pull it out in 7.

I'm with you on that, jr. As a Spurs fan, there are certain teams that worry me. The Suns aren't one of those teams. In last year's series, I was never worried about the series even though they had us on the ropes that sixth game.

Amare can jump out of the gym and finish, but he reminds me of Antonio McDyess pre-surgery. A great athlete who can finish and do some amazing things, but who sometimes gets lost out there on the court and struggles mentally (gets too fixated on one thing) against better posts.

This game was another classic example of why the Spurs can win championships when other teams cant. They can somehow manage to win some games that they really shouldnt win.
The opposite can be said for the Mavs. They often manage to loose games they should win. It just comes down to great team play and great individual effort at cruch time.

A few quotes from Shaq.....:bigcry:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=280419024

"We had a lot of opportunities to win," O'Neal said. "You can't make mistakes against a team like that especially here in this building."

But O'Neal wasn't completely contrite.

"I just wanted to play aggressive, but the floppers prevailed today. Amare and myself are going to continue to play aggressive," O'Neal said of his foul trouble. "Hopefully those guys will compete rather than just fall down."

Stoudemire, who fouled out with 12 seconds left in the first overtime, led the Suns with 33 points. O'Neal scored 11 points.

"They know we let them have one," O'Neal said. "All we need is one in this building."

Shaq shoulda been fouled out in the 4th quarter when he fouled Ginobili... he was lucky to play two OTs...

No doubt!!! Shaq has nothing to complain about, getting away with that one.

if you're talking about the one we're talking about, the block was infact clean, coming down from the block was not clean...

but Ginobili's flopping ways may have factored into the no-call...

I'm thinking of the one where he got ball, and then Manu fouled shaq's elbow
