Congrats to the Hornets! Keep fighting for it guys!

"From 3aBaseball.com"
LaGrange 8
Navasota 2

Also heard that Giddings beat Smithville, but no confirmation yet.

If Giddings won, 23-3a now looks like this (someone correct me if I am wrong):

Bellville 8-1
Caldwell 5-4
Giddings 5-4
LaGrange 4-5
Smithville 3-6
Navasota 2-7

Caldwell --0 0 6 0 0 0 0
Bellville ---1 0 0 4 0 0 0

Eubanks started for Caldwell and Mueller started for Bellville. Huebner came in for Bellville to start the 4th and Ofczarzak replaced Eubanks in the middle of the 4th for Caldwell. Both looked good in relief.

WP Eubanks
LP Mueller

Bellville only had one error on the board, but made some base running errors, and let some balls drop in for hits that might could have been caught. Bellville also left too many runners on. I think that Caldwell wanted this one a little more than Bellville tonight. Bellville moves to 8-1 and Caldwell to 5-4. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

This will set up a LaGrange/Giddings game next Tuesday. A LaGrange win will move them into a tie with Giddings. LaGrange would go on, because they would have swept Giddings. Big Game on Tuesday in LaGrange.

Didnt think they used head to head. I thought in the case of a tie, there would be a game to determine who would advance. Can anyone clarify?

I believe in the case of a "split" tie, then there would be a playoff. If the tie is on record only, and one team has both wins over the other (no split), then head to head wins out. I'm sure if this is wrong, someone will let me know. :)

Giddings 7
Smithville 2

Congrat's Buffs, great hits & aggressive base running tonight and Socha hangs tough @ home plate.

If I am deciphering this correctly, doesn't a Smithville win over Caldwell Tuesday also confuse this more?????

Then if Giddings & Smithville win, then it changes to Bellville, Giddings, Caldwell

Am I seeing this right???

Seems to me there are 2 important games left.

Go Buffs, Do what you do.

Get it done in La Grange.

Bellville 8-1
Caldwell 5-4
Giddings 5-4
LaGrange 4-5
Smithville 3-6
Navasota 2-7 [/B][/QUOTE]

OK another one. "cuz we all know, after all, this is baseball.

If La Grange & Smithville win,

then Bellville
Caldwell 5-5, Giddings 5-5, La Grange 5-5

Now, help me out, what would happen??? Because, Giddings/Caldwell split, LaGrange/Caldwell split, & then if La Grange can beat Giddings, it would be LaGrange beating Giddings twice..........(which all my toes & fingers are crossed that this is not going to happen)

Way too much for me to understand. I barely know 3 strikes, you're out. What is the ruling?

a 3-way tie would have to be played out for the 2 playoff spots. that would be fun..

This district is just as jumbled up as d 24. Lots of things can happen in a week.......

According to "Coach Collins" on the 3abaseball.com site:

"Giddings wins, Caldwell wins, both would be 6-4= one game play off for 2nd/third

A Giddings win will eliminate LaGrange (Leopards would end up 4-6). Caldwell is already at 5 wins, they could do no worse than 3rd.

Many different scenarios. Hornets and Buffalo need to win and make it a moot point."
