You will still be able to run XP for a while, but they say it's highly unlikely to avoid the eventual upgrade to Vista, which I can't stand! Your copy of XP should work legally for 6 more years, and after that?

I used Vista for the first time today. It was on a laptop that had never been connected to anything other than dial up so it had 17 updates to do. I did shut down and install updates, when I got back it wouldn't boot and it did an automatic system restore.

ive been using it at work for about a month now and its been pretty good - i like a lot of the administrative snap-ins you can install, it lets me manage active directory stuff on my different domains a lot easier than using remote desktop to get into different servers...

it also has cool graphic stuff with the windows, they'll look even better when i get my dual 22" monitors hooked up next week :D
