i took a visit to mcmurry when i was deciding where i wanted to play basketball....

they definitely needed (still need??) facilities upgrades...

still do, but their baseball facilities are top notch! i was very impressed, plus they are about to win their third conference title in the past seven years..hopefully i can get me one of those:)

baseball facilities are unbelievable. Many, many D1 schools would love to have it. Coach Driggers uncle won the Florida lotto right when McMurry started baseball 10-12 yrs ago. He pretty much wrote a blank check, and told Coach Driggers to build a showplace. He did. "Walt Driggers Field"

yep! The playing surface itself is the most impressive thing! Most people just see all the other nice stuff and dont look close enough lol but the field is ridiculously nice.

they heavily recruited a kid on my summer team this fall but he ended up signing with St. Eds in Austin. They came to watch him pitch at UTSA and i started instead so i met the coach afterwards, he seemed real nice.

Congrats D11. That has to be the nicest bb stadium for that size school I have ever seen. I was shocked the first time I saw it after its completion. I moved away from Abilene in 89, and there were just some old run down looking barracks type buildings in that spot then.
Now it would be pretty cool living where I did back then. A long HR over right center would land or bounce into my backyard. I bet there has been a few do that over the years.
Driggers is an excellent bb coach. I think you'll love playing for him. Be sure and post a schedule on here after you get there. Lots of dlowers in around the Abilene area that would love to come see ya play. Good Luck!!!

They have an excellent baseball facility and program i have played there a couple of times...

The coolest part of the field is having the coaches office behind homeplate where you can see in and out.

Coach said that if im starting during cold weather next year, my parents can go into the coaches office/ lobby behind home plate and watch the game from the couch...they were pretty excited about that lol
