Looks like they could miss the playoffs this year. What's going on?

Very tough district . If they win out they will be in. They could still get in with one more loss. As it stands now it may come down to the Prosper Celina game for the final spot. They have an outside chance at the district title but will need some help. They could also find themselves sitting home with one more loss. Princeton has the tie breaker against Celina. If Celina beats Prosper a second time they will have the tie breaker over Prosper. Based upon what I have watched this season District 9 will represent itself very well in the playoffs. I think Celina has good pitching depth for 3 game playoff series if they get that far. Wakeland also has depth to go far.

Results of games Friday night, April 11. Celina 7 Lovejoy 6 (10 innings, Celina scored 6 in the top of the 6th to tie and then scored one run in the 10th to win). Prosper 3 Frisco Wakeland 2. Frisco Liberty 4 Princeton 2. Frisco Wakeland and Prosper are tied at the top with 8-3 records. Princeton and Celina are tied for 3rd at 7-4. Frisco Liberty and Lovejoy are tied for 5th at 5-6. All teams have 3 games left to play. Frisco Wakeland plays Bonham at home then goes to Van Alstyne then finishes at home against Celina. Prosper is at Celina, then has Princeton at home and then Frisco Liberty at home. Princeton has Lovejoy at home, then goes to Prosper, then finishes at home against Bonham. Celina has Prosper at home, then goes to Bonham, then finishes at Frisco Wakeland. Frisco Wakeland, Prosper, Princeton, and Celina -- one of these teams will be left out and the other 3 will probably make the play-offs. Lovejoy and Frisco Liberty still have a chance to make the play-offs (but not likely). Very interesting district. The 3 play-off teams probably will not be determined for sure until the final district games.

Looks like Celina must win 2 out of 3 to make the playoffs.

There will be a really good team out of this district that will not make the playoffs. I think one of the 9-3A teams or LV Spring Hill or Bullard will be the state representative from Region 2.

Princeton is the real surprise here. They have come out of nowhere with several young guys making an impact this year.
