Don't think I've ever seen this as the current weather for a city before:

Ditto!

Lubbock: the only city (that I'm aware of) that has the EPA tell them the quality of air violates their safe levels and tries to get them to build a wall between them and Brownfield to stop the dirt from blowing in.   First week of MARCH, no less.....

If you put up that forecast for Lubbock every day of the year, you'd be right 75% of the time. All except for the temp. That can range from -30 to 110.

Wind is blowing bad here today also. Lubbock should come flying by any time now.:(

Not unusual...but I've never seen them list "blowing dust" as the current condition in Lubbock. It usually just says "windy." I guess they created a special icon for West Texas! :p

Me and my roommate went and shot clays today. He says to me, "Ross, do you really want to go shoot today? It ain't worth a damn outside." I said, "Brady, if you can hit 'em today, you can hit 'em any day." Needless to say, we went, we brought the pain, we conquered. Really we were pleasently surprised. I didn't think it'd be good at all, but it turned out pretty nice.

The winds even kicked up in East Texas last night. Now there are trees down everywhere. Big Sandy, just down the road from here, had 18 streets blocked by fallen trees and limbs earlier today.

I love that smell, it reminds me of home (i grew up on a ranch)

but to answer your question...no...the wind was mainly out of the north and the feedlots are on the south side of town.
