Agreed, but with Gibson only giving a solo HR, it may stand up. She is a helluva player. Sure wish Scarborough was not injured & out for year. She is applying for medical redshirt though, so maybe a 5th year for her.

Gibson is now 23-0 on season, ERA below 1.00 & best hitter too. Leading candidate for National Player of Year. 12 Ks tonight too & 3-hitter. Barnhill went 7 IP & gave up 7 hits w/ 3Ks. Both gave up a HR.

Ags also increase lead over Texas in Lone Star Showdown for 2007-2008.

I read her blog on the A&M softball home page a few weeks ago, so it's kinda cloudy, but what I remember is a torn tendon in her foot. It happened during an at-bat, when she took off aftr hitting a foul ball. No warning, just - BAM!

Had surgery on it a few weeks back. Is supposed to be out for the rest of the year.

Not a doctor, but here's my best imitation!

"Lis-franc" injury to foot (basically like a stress fracture & it caused more problems w/ fracture, tendons, & ligaments that support foot). Very similar to Yao Ming's injury. She had surgery in Houston & is out for year. Played in 15 games before Big 12 play started. She made contact & turned to run to 1st base & boom...out for year (ball was foul too). A&M has filed a waiver w/ NCAA trying to get another year on medical hardship. That is TBD, but she is out for this year.

HUGE loss, she's a 2-time All-American player entering her senior year. Pitcher & 1B, just a great player who helped take the Ags to CWS last year. Gibson is an AA too, & you just don't replace that. They are hanging in there & riding Gibson (23-0), but Scarborough's loss is just monumental.
