I would tell you to get to the airport early if you can. There is a 7PM flight that you might be able to fly standby on. Call AA and ask them what the standby list looks like for that flight. There are 9 open seats on the flight before it...so as long as one of the DFW-LAS routes doesn't get cancelled you shouldn't have a problem going standby.

I'm counting 19 seats open on Flight 1595 and that includes 12 exit row seats. Looks like there aren't too many elite members on this route. I'm surprised to find them flying the m80's out to LAS now. I've never flown that route on anything but a 757 and that's as recent as December. I'm guessing they use m80's more on the weekday routes.

The first two DFW-LAS routes took off on time and they aren't showing any delays for the other flights so far.

I think I know why they are having such a hard time complying. They are dotting "t's" and crossing "i's".

From the FT. Worth Star Telegram:

"We are crossing every 'i' and dotting every 't,'" said one airline official who asked not to be named because he wasn't authorized to speak publicly. "It's pretty clear that we're in a new era, and we're starting from scratch. So we're going to have to figure out how to live in this world."

If they would've done the maintenance work the first time the planes were grounded this wouldn't be happening. It better not happen again in 2 weeks when I go to TPA. I have a 737 on the way there but an md80 on the way back. Maybe I can get a flight to Miami and then catch a 757 back to DFW.
