listening to BBC radio, i get to hear more about Europe and its societies
did you know that Spain has problems with immigration(muslim, and of course it's not just Spain that has this problem) or that there is a housing market collapse with hundreds of thousands of empty new homes?
The United Kingdom has problems of its own; immigration, of course, but also mortgage problems. Parliament authorized the state take-over of Northern Rock, one of the nation's largest banks, after it collapsed due to faulty lending practices.
The UK Parliament also struggles with membership issues in the EU (ie NAFTA or the UN), socialized healthcare (big news includes more and more mothers being rejected a hospital stay during labor) and whether or not climate change is a serious problem.
