I'm sure someone already posted this, but I didn't want to look through 20 pages to find it...so here is the preseason Top 25 as compiled by THSB Magazine. Thoughts??

5. Sinton (30-5; State Finalist; 3 Returning Starters)
6. Celina (15-9; 8 Returning Starters)
7. Canyon (State Semi-Finalist)
8. Barbers Hill (28-5; Regional Quarter-Finalist; 4 Returning Starters)
9. Carthage (23-9; 3 Returning Starters; Regional Semi-Finalist)
10. Lindale (19-10; 7 Returning Starters)
11. Perryton (20-9; 5 Returning Starters)
12. Rusk (21-9; 7 Starters)
13. Falfurrias (25-8; 5 Starters)
14. Jasper (26-6; 7 Starters)
15. Center (22-5; 4 Starters)

23. Cameron Yoe (16-11; 6 Starters)
24. Hebbronville (17-7; 6 Returning Starters)
25. Lufkin Hudson (21-9; 5 Starters)

Others deserving recognition: Daingerfield (State Semi-Finalist); Pearsall (14-9; 9 Returning Starters); Wharton (16-10; 5 Starters); Lyford (15-8; 5 Returning Starters); Hardin Jefferson (18-9; 6 Starters); Abilene Wylie (Regional Finalist); Bridgeport (17-5); Decatur (14-10; Regional Quarter-Finalist); Lake Dallas (Regional Semi-Finalist); Kennedale (Regional Quarter-Finalist); Van Alstyne (District Champs); Mineola (Regional Semi-Finalist); Atlanta (Regional Quarter-Finalist); Willis Point (Regional Finalist); Crockett (District Champs); Woodville (Regional Finalist); Bridge City (District Champs); Sealy (22-10; Regional Semi-Finalist); Bandera (District Champs); Lytle (18-9); Yoakum (Regional Quarter-Finalist); Sweetwater.

As far as Dist. 30-3A...unlike recent years, I think Sinton will be challenged this year in district. With Mathis returning 7 starters and playing us "close" last year Sinton may be in for a good fight for the district championship. I still believe they will be district champs! wink These young players have big shoes to fill, but I'm confident Coach K. will have them ready come district! GO PIRATES!! :)

Lubbock Cooper should be a team to watch in Region I. I am surprised that Lake Dallas isn't at least in the top 20.

Watch Gonzales in Reg.4. They were a Regional semi-finalist last season. They return their ace, and the young outfield they had last year is back with another year under their belt. Teams from the list above they beat were Cuero twice, and Wharton in the playoffs twice. They only lost to an Alaniz pitched Sinton team in those Regional semis 4-1. Of coarse they lost second game 11-0, but they were young last year and did show some flashes. Only lost 3 key players. Last year they were 15-16, but that's because they had basketballers on the team and got off to a slow start. That will happen again this year. Just watch the Apaches.

I think this is a make or break year for Jasper. I think 8 starters are seniors. If someone else know for sure, feel free to correct me.

Dang, they said we'd be good this year, but #16?

That's pretty sweet... Our coach being a genius helps...
