Lawsuit: Female Tigers Fans Unknowingly Starred in 'Soft Core' Videos

A lawsuit filed by the Detroit Tigers' former scoreboard operator alleges team photographers shot inappropriate "soft core videos" of female fans at home baseball games, the Detroit News reports.

The videos were "freely and openly shown in the scoreboard area to all employees and supervisors on almost a regular basis," claims the sexual harassment suit filed by former Comerica Park scoreboard operator Reanen Maxwell, the paper said.

"We believe there is no merit to the allegations," Karen Cullen, a spokeswoman for team owner Mike Ilitch, told the News.

The story did not describe what specifically was shown in the videos.

Maxwell worked for the Tigers during the 2006 and 2007 baseball seasons, according to the paper. In addition to alleging that the "continued showing of the soft core videos" made for a hostile work environment, the suit claims a technical assistant to the scoreboard director slapped her buttocks, "telling her how much he liked her butt."

Scott Ferncombe, the man responsible for selecting and recording crowd shots at the games, told the News he didn't "know of any secret stash of videos" and nothing inappropriate was recorded to his knowledge.

unfortunately, on the back of any game ticket, it says that you by attending the game are waiving your right to privacy. If women are wearing low-cut shirts, they're giving the cameraman a right to zoom in on the cleavage.

If you ever have had a premium sports package where they leave you on the stadium feed instead of going to commercial, you'll see and hear the announcers making all sorts of comments about women in the stands.

In fact, during the New Year's Eve Dallas Stars game, the actually came back from break about ten seconds early and the camera was on a woman who was stuffing money into her well-endowed blouse. The announcer commented, "man, she's the queen of cleavage," and then realized he was on the air and turned it into a joke about one of the players on the ice.

Oh I know...I work in TV production, and as soon as the network goes to commercial, all the camera guys instinctively start scanning the crowd for nice looking women. Next time you're watching a game, pay attention to how many times a woman in the stands is the first thing you see when the game comes back on.

Of course, the shot they come back with is MUCH more tasteful than the one they had on while the commercial was playing.
